The Gabba has joined forces with Eumundi Brewery, with the support of the Brisbane Lions and Brisbane Heat, to brew a special new beer exclusively available to stadium-goers.
Following a $35 million renovation, including upgrades to the stadium’s bars, food outlets and other facilities, this unique brew will feature on tap in selected bars around the ground.
Eumundi Brewery head brewer Chris Sheehan said: “With The Gabba being a fantastic supporter of our core Eumundi beers, the opportunity to work together to create a stadium-specific beer was simply too good to pass up.”
“The Gabba Session Ale is an easy drinking Pale Ale, with a decent fruit forward nose. Think citrus and stone fruit, with an approachable body and clean finish. A true session Ale.”
“All Eumundi beers are designed to be savoured in the Queensland sunshine, but this one is to be enjoyed whilst watching the footy or cricket, at the best stadium in Australia, The Gabba.”
The Gabba Manager Mark Zundans said the concept was a great way for fans to enjoy a uniquely Queensland experience.
“The Gabba is always looking at ways we can improve the fan experience and our recent bar upgrades were the perfect opportunity to try out a new concept,” Mr Zundans said
“Through great partnership and collaboration with Eumundi Brewery, The Brisbane Lions, and Queensland Cricket, we have been able to develop this special brew exclusively available at The Gabba and I’m extremely excited for fans to get their first taste when they come to cheer on the Lions this weekend!”
Brisbane Lions Captain Dayne Zorko said “Having our own exclusive beer at the Gabba is just another thing to be excited about at the Gabba this year,” Mr Zorko said.
“I’m looking forward to hearing the crowd cheer us on with a Eumundi Gabba Session Ale in hand,” he said.
Terry Svenson, Queensland Cricket CEO said: “There’s nothing better than settling in at the Gabba to enjoy a relaxed session or two watching the Queensland Bulls or gathering up a few friends for a night out at a Brisbane Heat game,” Mr Svenson said.
“The Gabba Session Ale sounds like the ideal allrounder for summer and we welcome it to the team,’’ he said.
