It will be a summer like no other with the 2026-27 international cricket season to extend from the men’s NRMA Insurance Northern Australia Test Series against Bangladesh in August 2026 to the historic 150th Anniversary Test Match at the MCG in March 2027.

Cricket Australia today released the 2026-27 international schedule which includes 27 matches in 14 venues across eight action-packed months.

England return for a much-anticipated white ball series seeking some consolation after last season’s Ashes defeat. The eight match series (3 ODIs, 5 T20Is) will be played in all six states and the ACT.

The two-Test men’s series against Bangladesh in August will showcase northern Australia with the return of Test cricket to Darwin after 22 years and the first Test at Mackay’s Great Barrier Reef Arena.

New Zealand are always tough opponents. The four-Test men’s NRMA Insurance series starting with the West Test and including the Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year’s Tests, as well as the women’s NRMA Insurance T20I and ODI series, will again ignite the fierce Trans-Tasman rivalry.

The women’s series against New Zealand will include the first women’s matches played under lights at both Melbourne’s CitiPower Centre and Adelaide’s Karen Rolton Oval after upgrades to those venues.

Bangladesh women will visit in October for a six-match white-ball series as part of the ICC Women’s Championship series with Australia looking to seize the title again.

The international season builds to a historic climax with the 150th Anniversary Test Match at the MCG celebrating cricket’s most storied rivalry, the enduring popularity of Test Cricket and the superstars from all nations who have elevated the game.

The Australian international cricket season will be shown live on Kayo Sports, Foxtel, Seven and 7plus.

Todd Greenberg, CA CEO said:

“We’re delighted to release an international schedule that ensures fans across Australia will see our brilliant national teams play over eight months at many fantastic venues across the country.

“Our rivalry with the Kiwis has always been hard fought and produced many memorable moments and the men’s Test series and women’s white ball series will be no exception.

“We’re also delighted to take Test cricket back to Darwin and to Mackay for the first time with northern Australia providing a fantastic alternative timeslot in the crowded international schedule for the men’s series against Bangladesh.

“The 150th Anniversary Test Match will be a wonderful conclusion to the summer with the cricket world coming to the MCG to celebrate the game’s historic rivalry and also the superstars from across the world who have made Test cricket great.

“We’re extremely grateful for the support of all our broadcast, commercial, government and venue partners who will help ensure Australia’s national sport again thrills millions of fans throughout another eventful season.”
